Designed for parents of children recently diagnosed with Asperger Syndrome. Experienced parents share stories of how they reacted when their own children were diagnosed and how they used the diagnosis to make life better for their families. This program was produced by Coulter Video, which offers DVDs, free articles and other information about Asperger Syndrome and autism on their website: www.coultervideo.com.
Neurotypical Louise Weston has an excellent relationship with her Asperger husband Graham. She’ll be the first to tell you it required work. But she’s equally as quick to tell you, others can experience the same level of satisfaction in marriage, if one chooses to work on it. Louise has compiled a book on her experiences and insights as well as those from others in similar relationships. The end product – “Connecting With Your Asperger Partner: Negotiating the Maze of Intimacy” – is chocked full of tips, advice and hope.
Part 1 of the first DVD in the series “Asperger Syndrome and Adulthood,” this video is intended for use by college students with Asperger Syndrome to educate their professors, teaching assistants, etc. on what it means to be a college student on the spectrum and how they might best be able to help them succeed. OAR produced the DVD in cooperation with the Global and Regional Asperger Syndrome Project (GRASP) and Pace University in New York City thanks to a generous grant from the Schwallie Family Foundation.
