She is prone to be a bit touchy sometimes and she’s always all insecure but she’s very pretty and very smart, and i’m not exactly the best pants in the drawer. The aspergers isn’t an issue for me, i just don’t know what might upset her and I need a little help with girls.
I’ve had a really tough childhood. I didn’t have that much friends during school. I had a best friend, but turned her back on me for no reason. Kids use to yell at me for not doing things right, or I do things really slow and they would tell me to hurry up! Also peer pressure. I’m always backstabbed by friends!
In this series of video clips (being uploaded today), Anthony Naiman is showing Nicholas Krishnan, a young man with autism) how to assemble, disassemble, and pack away some of Anthony’s father’s sound equipment. Many thanks to Anthony and his very caring family for being so kind to Nicholas!
Learning to drive is a daunting and stressful experience even for the calmest of individuals but much more so when you have Autism. It can also be much more important for people with Autism than for neuro-typical people as it represents the independence they often find so difficult to achieve in the rest of their lives. Many autistic people cannot cope with crowds, noisy and unreliable public transport, or even being looked at by strangers. Autistic Driving School will follow a range of young characters with autism at different stages along the journey towards learning to drive. Stories will include first lessons, new teachers, the build up to theory and practical tests and a woman who has passed her test but is too scared to drive on her own. Taking a driving test is something that everyone can relate to. It is a stressful rite of passage for all young people but even more so for autistic people with low self-confidence and poor social skills. * BBC Three * 1 x 60mins * TX: 29/04/10

Visual Strategies Get Results :
Are you seeking solutions to the communication breakdowns and behavior challenges of your students?
Using visual strategies makes a difference. Visual strategies help students focus their attention, understand communication, and comprehend the demands of their world.
Students thrive in environments that provide visual support. Use visual strategies for giving information; establishing rules, and providing the structure students need to be successful.
