So if you could give me some info on it that would be great and I’m willing just to chat or email with you.

Recognizing Child Development Problems / Educational Video. Public domain video courtesy of CDC. It’s time to change how we view a child’s growth. Do you know all the ways you should measure your childs growth? We naturally think of height and weight, but from birth to 5 years, your child should reach milestones in how he plays, learns, speaks and acts. A delay in any of these areas could be a sign of a developmental problem, even autism. The good news is, the earlier its recognized the more you can do to help your child reach her full potential. Early recognition of developmental disabilities such as autism is key for parents and providers. CDC realized the impact on families and invested in a campaign to help parents measure their children’s progress by monitoring how they play, learn, speak and act. What is child development? A child’s growth is more than just physical. Children grow, develop, and learn throughout their lives, starting at birth. A child’s development can be followed by how they play, learn, speak, and behave. What is a developmental delay? Will my child just grow out of it? Skills such as taking a first step, smiling for the first time, and waving “bye bye” are called developmental milestones. Children reach milestones in playing, learning, speaking, behaving, and moving (crawling, walking, etc.). A developmental delay is when your child does not reach these milestones at the same time as other children the same age. If your child is not developing

Is being in your own little world a part of autism?

I have autism spectrum disorder or aspergers syndrome and I am in my own little world most of the time. It distracts me form my learning I start thinking about star trek or videogames or something else. I wonder is this a part of AS? Because I can be looking at the teacher and daydreaming at the same time and not get the assignment. Are most kids with aspurgers syndrome in there own little worlds? How can I get out of there?

Ok, so a while back I mentioned the fact that I got a job as a personal care assistant for a 6 year old with severe autism who is non-verbal, in diapers, and will sometimes pull hair or bite if frustrated. The ad for the job said that most of your time would be spent playing in the back yard or going for walks and was easy as long as you don’t mind changing a few diapers. Because this is my first time really having experience with someone who is more than just mildly autistic, some mothers of autistic children on this website sort of slammed me and said that they wouldn’t trust me with their child and also saying that I didn’t know enough to do this job. They also said it was a lie that the job was easy. So, I just wanted to say to those mothers, just because a description vaguely resembles your child does not mean that the child is your child. Also, don’t judge my abilities before knowing me. I started the job late September and have found that it is in fact a very easy job. Understandably, the mother was nervous leaving her kid alone with me (who wouldn’t be nervous leaving their kid alone with someone for the first time?), but everything is going well (o:

I’ve recently stated, a guy with aspergers syndrome, always thought he was a bit cold, rude and distant but i never really thought anything of it.

i was just wondering what exactly is aspergers syndrome? what causes it? and should i be cautious about it?

What are the Autism disorders other than Asperger?

We hear and read a lot about Autism is a spectrum of disorders. But the only other disorder I ever hear about other than Autism is Aspergers.

What are the other disorders that make up the autism spectrum?

Thank you.
